The counselors at Mount Washington Valley Psychological Services offer traditional talk therapy services that are based on effective methods of treatment and backed by decades of efficacy research within the psychological field. Our goal is to help find methods of treatment that meet the unique requirements of each client to help bring about change quickly and with lasting effect.

Generally, we do not provide substance abuse counseling or mandated offender treatment. Additionally, we do not have the resources for clients that may require case-management or multiple treatment options (e.g., individuals with chronic mental health conditions and a history of repeated psychiatric hospitalization).
MWVPS provides comprehensive psychologic testing for children and adults in the realms of intellectual assessment, diagnostic clarification, safety evaluation, and disibility determination. The close relationship between psychological assesment and therapuetic providers allows efficient and timely referrals for clients with treatment needs following testing.
MWVPS does not prescribe medication. However, for our clients with psychotropic medication needs, we can often provide referrals and consultation to medical providers in the area. We work closely with a number of local medical facilities including Saco River Medical Center, White Mountain Community Health Center, and Memorial Hospital.
MWVPS provides 24-hour crisis coverage for active clients who may be experiencing a life-threatening psychiatric emergency. These services are tailored to meet the needs of the client's situation and may range from phone support and same-day appointments, to hospital evaluations and assistance with inpatient admission to an appropriate psychiatric facility.
